A number of organisations in and around the town require volunteer help. If you are bored or have time on your hands and want to help the community - even 10 or 15 minutes on a regular basis can help - please contact one of the organisations below.

Blind Veterans UK

We support anyone who has served in the forces, or who has done National Service, and is now living with significant sight loss.

Keeping the Churchyard looking good.

You may not be aware that the Churchyard is entirely maintained by a team of volunteers from all sections of the community. Some give a lot of time to mow large areas of grass, others help by picking up dead flowers, litter, etc We need vour help whether it be just for 10 minutes now and again or to undertake a regular task If you feel you have any time free, no matter how little, we would be very pleased to have your help.

New Alresford Town Trustees

DRIVERS WANTED FOR THE ALRESFORD MINI-BUS

The bus is owned and operated by the Town Trustees to provide a valuable service for the elderly and infirm residents of Alresford. The service provided includes shopping trips as well as trips to Winchester and Alton. During the summer months a series of afternoon and evening leisure drives take place. Volunteers drive the bus and the Town Trustees are looking for more drivers who are over 21 years of age with a full driving licence and some spare time.

Alresford & Cheriton Scout Group

Your local Scout Group requires volunteers to join a small and enthusiastic team of leaders based in the Scout Hut, off Bridge Road. They have a long history of providing the young people of Alresford and surrounding districts with a vibrant and energetic programme of activities focussing on outdoor pursuits, fun and friendship.

Help is required for the following groups:

  • Beavers (age 6-8) are currently unable to meet due to a lack of adult support
  • Cubs (age 8-10 1/2) meet on Tuesday nights at 6:00pm and need further adult help
  • Scouts (age 10 1/2-14) meet on Friday nights at 7:00pm and need further adult help
  • Explorer Scouts (age 14-18) require a leader to help develop the section.

The Watercress Line needs you! Without the dedication and enthusiasm of volunteers the railway could not exist. New volunteers are sought to join a friendly team; not just on the trains but also for office, catering, retail and more.
