It's in the library

Why not call into your local library - there's lots on offer to help you have a really enjoyable and interesting time.

  • If you're looking forward to relaxing in the garden with a good book, you can borrow the latest paperback then treat yourself to an ice cream with the money you save.
  • Going on holiday? You can borrow a travel guide to your destination, or a map if you're exploring Britain's highways and byways.
  • Maybe you're thinking of starting a new hobby or pursuing a new interest - the library has books on everything from boating to barbecues, swimming to scrapbooking.
  • Keeping the children busy during holiday breaks can be a challenge - get them involved in the Summer Reading Challenge.
  • Don't forget that as well as books, your library has audio books for children and adults which can save your sanity and entertain you on long car journeys.
  • Audio books are also a wonderful source of enjoyment for people who struggle to read print. And you can download an audio or ebook from our website: www.hants.gov.uk/libraries
  • And if you're unable to get to the library because of disability or caring responsibilities, the library can come to you - through the Home Library Service. Volunteers will select the kind of books you enjoy and bring them to your home every few weeks.

Joining the library is quick, easy and won't cost you a penny. Libraries are packed full of wonderful opportunities and are waiting to welcome you all the year round.
